What are “Covenants and Restrictions?” What are “By-Laws?” How do I get a copy?
Community Documents, are often collectively called "Declaration of Covenants" or "Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions" (CCRs, DCCR) or in condominiums, "Master Deed" are the rules creating the Association and binding all present and future owners to it. The By-Laws are supplemental documents which define Board responsibilities, but may expand upon or re-state the requirements in the Covenants. These documents are quite a substantial read...sometimes perceived as difficult to follow. Your manager can help you interpret them and direct you to the section and page that relates to your question or concern.
